TRUE CRIME WEEK: Pittsburgh’s Vice Queens

In this program, we will dig into the history of Pittsburgh’s women of vice: roadhouse and brothel proprietors, bootleggers, and numbers runners. Women found ways outside the law to write their own tickets in a male-dominated world of organized crime. We’ll meet some of the city's most colorful women vice entrepreneurs who dominated headlines and rackets for much of the 20th century.
